You can watch movies and television at home, on a plane, in line at the grocery store — virtually anywhere you like. But it will cost you.
Big-name video streaming services require monthly subscriptions. Luckily, they aren’t your only options.
The following streaming services and websites are free.
1. Free trials for paid services
Most paid streaming services — including Hulu and Netflix — let you start with a free trial.
Amazon’s Prime Video also offers a free trial. If you are an Amazon Prime member, though, you already have access to Prime Video at no added cost.
When these trials end, your credit card may be charged. So, if you decide you don’t want to pay for a subscription, be sure you cancel it before the trial ends.
2. The Roku Channel
If you have a Roku streaming device, you can use it to access free shows and movies on the Roku Channel. You can also access the channel online.
