For those of you who haven’t picked up the game in a while, Kali Sticks are an incredibly deadly melee weapon. Despite looking a little bit like those magic straws that you can stick into milk to get chocolate milk, they’re more than capable of causing some serious damage. If you need proof, just look at how this squad won an entire game without firing a single bullet – it was all thanks to riot shields and Kali Sticks.
Perhaps inspired by this feat of derring-do, more and more users are now taking to Reddit to share their own heroic tales of action and adventure with the Sticks Of Doom. There are some seriously impressive displays of skill, stealth, and outright audacity on display, I have to say.
Take a look at this stunning effort from GuiCorsil, who manages to quickly and quietly nail everybody left in the final circle to claim the win. The way in which they end the lives of three enemies in quick succession before anyone even realises what’s happening is honestly quite frightening.
Another player on Modern Warfare multiplayer decided stealth is for the birds, instead pulling out the Kali Sticks to go an incredibly aggressive run. To be fair, I can’t imagine anyone in a tight game of Modern Warfare is expecting you to sprint up to someone holding a gun while brandishing nothing but a pair of sticks. The element of surprise? Very much on the side of the stick-wielder in this instance.
Both threads are full of people discussing how to get the most out of the Kali Sticks, so if you’re interested on making them part of your loadout, I definitely recommend having a scroll through the comments. The general consensus seems to be that Kali Sticks are such a hit right now because they’re still taking a lot of players – especially newcomers – by surprise.
I, for example, am a complete Call Of Duty novice. If I’d seen someone running towards me with sticks, I probably wouldn’t have felt the fear of God that I will now I’ve watched those killstreaks and read up on the Kali Sticks. Do not underestimate them, is what I’m saying.
