Omoni was born April 22, 1978, as the second and last child of her parents in Benin City, Edo State. The versatile actress is of the Delta State Mosogar descent.  She attended the Delta Steel Company Primary School and the Delta Steel Company Technical High School for her secondary education.

Omoni was the head of the literary and debating society, as well as the drama club, both in primary and secondary school. She wrote, acted, directed, and created plays for her school.

Omoni went on to the University of Benin after her secondary education, where she studied Foreign Languages, a majoring in French, graduating with a second-class upper class.

She also attended the New York Film Academy where she completed a multimedia film-making course.
Omoni Oboli is married to Nnamdi Oboli, and are  blessed with three boys.

From childhood Omoni always knew she wanted to be an actress, so after graduating from high school she delved into the film industry.

She began her film career with the film – Bitter Encounter in 1996. Her acting skills paved the way for her in the industry, and she enjoyed more and more leading roles before leaving the industry to concentrate on her education at university.

She got married after graduation, and had a break from the industry until 2006. She continued doing exploits on return, and in 2007 she produced her first film.

Omoni is an ambitious woman who is working hard to accomplish everything she sets her mind to. She released her debut film as a director in 2014.

Omoni is a face that the Nollywood industry must reckon with. She is also a writer. She wrote The novel ‘The Stars Are Ageless’.

The beautiful actress established the Omoni Oboli foundation in April 2012. The foundation aims to meet the needs of less privileged women and children.

On the 22nd of April 2018, which was the actress’s 40th birthday, she established a feeding initiative called – Sister Lizzy’s Kitchen, through the Foundation. Sister Lizzy’s kitchen (named after her late mother) was established to feed 500 children every week.
